Hotel Services Assistant (HSA)

About the Role

The Hotel Services Assistant (HSA) plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for the older persons, staff and visitors. The position is responsible for cleaning the older persons’ rooms, communal areas, and undertaking general housekeeping duties. 

Key Accountabilities and Duties

  • Clean and maintain older persons’ rooms and communal areas.
  • Replenish supplies throughout older persons and communal areas, such as soap, hand sanitiser, toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, and gloves.
  • Setting up rooms for new older persons’ arrival and or show.
  • Maintain confidentiality, privacy, dignity and respect of older persons at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to support a positive and caring environment

Key-Selection Criteria

  • Previous experience in cleaning or housekeeping, preferably in aged care, healthcare or hospitality settings desirable.
  • Understanding of infection control and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills – client-focused, friendly, calm, courteous, polite, and overall upbeat personality.
  • Ability to self-motivate and a can-do attitude.
  • Physical capacity to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, repetitive tasks, and standing for extended periods.
  • Commitment to older person wellbeing and customer service.
