Art & Craft Exhibition
At the end of July, our Independent Living Unit (ILUs) residents proudly presented their art & craft projects from the last year(s) in their very own art exhibition. The art pieces are the result of the craft group run by our retirement village residents as well other projects from our ILUs. This includes lockdown projects.
Some of our resident kept themselves busy in the past two years by crafting beautiful pictures in forms of ‘Diamond Paintings’. Diamond Painting is a mix between ‘paint by numbers’ and ‘cross stitch’. With Diamond Painting, one applies thousands of tiny resin “diamonds” to a coded adhesive canvas to create shimmering picture. This certainly takes a lot of patience but the results are stunning. Have a look yourself:
Other residents exhibited their own paintings, cards, blankets, knitted clothes, and much more. The beautiful pieces were first admired by our aged care residents and then by other ILUs & special guests. Our residents clearly have great talent and passion for art & craft. Have a look yourself, doesn’t everything look amazing?
