We had to put our January newsletter on hold for a few days as we have been waiting for some exciting news. It was on Australia Day when the embargo was lifted and we are now proud to share some wonderful news with you, involving one of our residents and our local council.

We also have some interesting updates from our activities team. While group activities are already back in the retirement village, our aged care facility has also expanded its program. There is a new gardening club, tech lessons, and, we now offer entertainment each and every weekend and on public holidays.

What else is new? Find out in your e-newsletter from Martin Luther Homes.
On Australia Day, Christel Huwald was awarded the title Elder Citizen of the Year by Knox City Council. Find out how she reacted in an online video and interview by simply clicking HERE!

Did you know that it is easy to switch from Transition Care to Aged Care? Our resident Sybil has done exactly that and she told us her story. Click HERE.

“I don’t have family and I knew I couldn’t go back home, so I had to make a decision.”

Tech lessons are back! We have relaunched our educational group sessions as well as 1:1 time for our seniors as part of our extended Activities Calendar. Every week, we offer basic training for tablets, smartphones or laptops. We answer questions and give valuable tips.
The Boys are back in town! Michael from Activities runs the weekly Men's Group in our aged care facility. Surprisingly, most discussions are not about sports and horse power but about everyone's personal life and work history. Or, as it is hard to avoid in recent months, the top news of the day.
More time for residents with dementia! In 2021, we are focusing even more on people with dementia. Not only are we now the proud owners of a Tovertafel but we also have more staff on the ground who either provide some valuable 1:1 time or play some fun games, daily.

Find out why SBS German paid Martin Luther Homes a visit and why there was a big bunch of flowers involved. When? In next month's newsletter!
