A Fresh New Look for Our Care Apartment Dining and Living Area

Our Care Apartment dining and living area has been refreshed to create a warmer, more comfortable place for residents to enjoy meals, relax and spend time together. Residents were involved from the beginning. Their ideas, preferences and feedback helped shape the final design, from the furniture and layout to the colours and overall feel of the space.

Designed with Residents

The people who use the space every day were at the centre of the project. Residents shared what mattered to them and helped create an environment that feels welcoming, familiar and homelike. The refreshed area offers comfortable places for shared meals, quiet conversations and everyday connection. Smaller dining tables help create a more relaxed and personal dining experience, while the adjoining living area provides a comfortable setting for residents to sit together, enjoy a cup of tea or spend time with family and friends.

Comfort, Connection and Community

Every detail was considered with residents’ comfort and independence in mind. Warm lighting, supportive seating and clear pathways make the area easier to navigate and enjoy. The layout also gives residents the choice to join others or spend time in a quieter part of the room. The result is a space that supports dignity, choice and meaningful connection.

First Nations Artwork Featured on Our Dining Chairs

The front and back of the dining chairs feature Marrunga Yubaa – Emerald, an artwork by Aboriginal artist Lizzy Stagman.

We are proud to showcase her work in the heart of our Care Apartments and to celebrate Aboriginal culture, creativity and storytelling within our home. Thank you to the residents who shared their ideas and helped bring the refreshed space to life.

It is now a place where residents can come together, feel comfortable and enjoy the everyday moments that make a community feel like home.
