Cultural Safety & Inclusion

Respecting Diversity

At Martin Luther Homes, we celebrate the diversity of our community and honour the cultural backgrounds, beliefs, and traditions of every older person in our care. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and safe to express who they are.

Our team is trained to provide care that is sensitive and inclusive, ensuring that cultural practices, languages, faiths, and personal preferences are recognised and supported. We actively welcome families and community groups to share traditions, stories, and celebrations, helping older people stay connected to their identity and heritage.

For us, cultural safety is more than a policy — it’s a promise to deliver care that embraces individuality and fosters belonging.

Pastoral & Spirituality Care

Pastoral and spiritual care at MLH is enriched by the presence of dedicated pastors who generously give their time, wisdom, and compassion. Each visiting pastor brings a unique background, ministry experience, and spiritual perspective, creating a diverse and supportive network of care. Through prayer, counselling, worship, and fellowship, they walk alongside our residents, offering encouragement, comfort, and guidance tailored to individual needs. Their commitment reflects a shared mission to nurture faith, dignity, and a sense of belonging for all.

Below are some of the pastors who visit us on a weekly and monthly basis, each contributing in meaningful and personal ways:

Inclusive Practices

  • Multilingual staff and interpreters
  • Culturally appropriate meals and activities
  • Celebration of cultural and faith-based events
  • Respect for traditions and customs

We are a CALD certified provider, culturally and linguistically diverse.
