Special Dementia Care Program – Wattle House

Dedicated Dementia Care

Wattle House is a purpose-built home designed for older people living with severe dementia, offering safety, comfort, and specialised support.

The program will feature 8 private rooms and a dedicated “bounce back” room to support stabilisation before transition to mainstream aged care or other appropriate settings. Selected under a five-year Federal Government contract.

What is SDCP? Highly specialised care for older people with very severe dementia where behaviours cannot be safely managed in other settings, even with specialist services.

Eligibility: Aged Care Assessment; dementia diagnosis; severe behavioural/psychological symptoms persisting for at least 3 months. Referrals commonly via Dementia Support Australia.

Visiting: Use the Wattle House entrance and intercom; virtual visits available via group video or phone.
