We all had a challenging year and we all deserve a good break over the holidays to reflect and recharge our batteries for a, hopefully, much better 2021. We also want to thank all those who are working over the holidays, enabling the rest of us to put up our feet and relax. There is also a lot to celebrate at the end of this year. We are converting old units into modern Care Apartments and our retirement village has taken first cautious steps towards social get-togethers. Our colleague Evelin Martin has been honoured for her efforts outside of work and the real big news is that we now have our very own Tovertafel.  We wish all our residents, their families, and all our supporters a wonderful Christmas time and a good start to the New Year! Merry Christmas & Frohe Weihnachten! Our 2020 fundraiser was a big success, thanks to all the generous support from our community. Therefore, Santa came early this year and our residents now get to enjoy their 'magic table' every day. We have even created a 'magic room' to go with the table! Read all about it! Our very own Evelin Martin, Client Liaison Officer, has been recognised for her services to the ageing community in the City of Knox. For four years, Evelin has served on the Knox Active Ageing Advisory Committee that works very hard to advise those on the levers of power to steadily improve the services and facilities of our council. As an organisation, we also want to thank Evelin for the time and passion she invests outside of working hours on behalf of our residents. Volunteers are back! We are so excited to welcome back our volunteers who are appreciated so much by our residents and staff. If you are interested in spending some quality time with some of our residents, or if you know somebody, please contact us and we will arrange the rest. Social Life returns to the village! Decorating the Christmas Tree was the first official get-together for some residents in our retirement village. Just like in the rest of Melbourne, it has been quiet for most of 2020. The more wonderful it is to see some social activities slowly re-emerge. We are also excited to confirm that our Lifestyle Coordinator for Independent Living, Birgit Gisler, is back in the village. Secure a Care Apartment now! Our pool of Care Apartments will get four new additions in the new year. If you know someone, or even a couple, who is/are after modern 24/7 nursing care, don't hesitate to contact us for more information.
